Workshop: EU-China relations: actual conditions and future perspectives
The workshop “EU-China relations: actual conditions and future perspectives” (Ghent University, 6-7 July 2017) was, on the one hand, the logical follow-up to the workshop “Opportunities and Challenges: China-EU Regional Cooperation in One-Belt-One-Road” held at Sichuan University from 22 to 24 May 2017, and, on the other hand, the presentation of the outcomes of the 2015 Jean Monnet Project on “European Integration: Realities and Challenges – Perspectives from Chinese Youth”.
The first day of the workshop was devoted to concrete issues related to the ‘One-Belt-One-road’ initiative: energy, climate, international relations, China-EU cooperation, and People-to-People dialogue. The last topic was the bridge to the second day of the workshop which dealt with the knowledge and perception of Chinese and European youth of the EU resp. China. The workshop has formulated new domains for further research on this topic.
